Children's Cataract Surgery



On a visit to Kintamani in December 2003, the mobile eye clinic team found three girls in one family from Songan, a small village in the crater of Mt Batur, who had been blind since they were 7 years old. The girls recently underwent cataract removal and implant surgery in the Rumah Sakit Indera in Denpasar, and will now be able to attend school and can look forward to a more optimistic future. The Foundation is always looking for funds to support this Children's Cataract Surgery program. Perhaps you would like to be instrumental in a gift of sight to a child.




24 May 2004:
Handover Ceremony - Clean Water Project Muntigunung Village


The YKI team and representatives from Rotary Australia and Rotary Bali attended a handover ceremony of the Muntigunung Clean Water Project to the village. The Bupati of Karangasam, local dignitaries and villagers from Muntigunung were also present.

Harvey World Travel signs long-term sponsorship with The John Fawcett Foundation

Harvey World Travel (HWT), the largest single brand travel franchise group in the Southern Hemisphere, has signed a long-term sponsorship alliance with The John Fawcett Foundation (JFF).
The sponsorship is for $40,000 a year over a three-year period and the funds are to be dedicated to paying administration costs of the Foundation, including its activities in regard to the Memorial Community Eye Treatment Centre, the construction of which is being supported by the Australian Federal Government.
