BEQUEST TO THE FOUNDATION

A bequest is a unique gift which carries the implementation of your wishes into the future. With your promise of future support, our Foundation can plan for expansion of its humanitarian projects to assist more people. A decision to include The John Fawcett Foundation in your Will reflects your concern for the needy and leaves a lasting impression ….. it ensures that our humanitarian work will go on.

When making or amending your Will, please consider including a bequest to The John Fawcett Foundation. You should consult your solicitor in the preparation of your Will to ensure that your wishes are clearly expressed and legally binding. To include a bequest in an existing Will, you can simply add an extra clause known as a codicil. When doing this, consult your solicitor to ensure that the codicil fulfils all legal requirements and does not contradict other clauses in your Will.

There are three ways to leave a charitable bequest to The John Fawcett Foundation:

1. You can leave a percentage of your estate
2. You can leave the residue of your estate
3. You can leave a specified sum

WORDING FOR YOUR WILL

I give and bequeath ……………………………………… (specify amount or type of gift) to The John Fawcett Foundation to be applied for general charitable purposes, and in respect of such legacy, I declare as follows:

1. a general charitable intent shall apply

2. the receipt of the Treasurer shall constitute a full and sufficient discharge to executors and trustees

and

3. my executors and trustees shall not be obliged to see or enquire into the application of money or assets, the subject of such legacy.

If The John Fawcett Foundation does not exist at the time of such legacy taking effect, then the bequest shall be made to a charity with equivalent aims and objectives equivalent to those of The John Fawcett Foundation.

If you have included a bequest to The John Fawcett Foundation in your Will please let us know. The information you provide will remain strictly confidential, but we would welcome the chance to thank you personally.
