Assistance to Desperately ill Children and Young
People
Many poor Indonesian families are faced with the heart-breaking fact that they cannot afford to save their own child's life. There have been cases where a child in need of simple appendix surgery has died because the parents had no money to pay for the operation. To prevent such tragedies, our Foundation arranges free treatment for children from poor families who need life-saving or life-changing procedures. Dozens of children and young people have benefited from this program, which is funded by The John Fawcett Foundation.
The most common areas of assistance include prosthetic legs, prosthetic eyes, follow-up burns treatment, colostomy, hernias, goitre.
How you can help this Program
If you would like to support our assistance to these young people, please send a cash donation – consult our SUPPORT OUR PROGRAMS page for how to donate.
Our Foundation receives many requests to assist children from poor families who
are suffering from medical conditions. Most of those we are able to help are treated
in Bali, but some children who come to our attention need more advanced
medical attention which is not available in Indonesia. Unfortunately we are not
able to assist all these patients, and we have to calculate the child’s long-term
prognosis and his/her chances of being able to lead a normal and productive
life following treatment. Donations received for particular patients over and above
what is required for their treatment will be directed to other children in this Program.
